                         HYPERTENSION

Hypertension is a common disorder where blood pressure in the arteries remains abnormally high. It is a major risk factor for stroke, heart attack, heart failure, renal failure etc.

Ayurvedic approach to Hypertension

Ayurveda sees hypertension as a dysfunction of all the doshas vata,  pitta & kapha  & known as rakta chap vridhi and it sees the vitiation of vata & pitta as the main cause. Therefore Ayurveda treatment of Hypertension mainly involves balancing of these doshas.

Signs & Symptoms

·       Severe headache
·       Rest lessness- Difficulty in breathing

Diet for Hypertension

Fresh green leafy vegetables, Garlic, Lemon, Paisley, Bitter guard are known to be useful.Avoid fast food, packed food etc.

Fresh fruit are very useful in lighting with high blood pressure

·       Watermelon

Precautions

·       Regular exercise
         Low salt diet
·       Brisk walking
·       Jogging

·       Adequate rest

Don’t

   
·       Avoid smoking as it increases the heart rate
·       Reduce meat, eggs, table salt, pickles, tea & coffee
